[01] Well, hello -- Criminal Minds for
noc
Inception.
Arthur had said it couldn't be done and yet here he was, boarding a plane to Prague just hours after completing the unfathomable.
They had just barely scraped through, what with all of the last minute plan changes, and they wouldn't know for weeks whether the seed would take but so far it looked like it had and they were all alive. To be honest, it had been one of the most difficult jobs of Arthur's career and also the most eye opening experience he's had in a long time.
Once Cobb and Fischer Jr had left with their respective parties, Arthur had seen their forger and chemist off. They were a pair who defied the expectations of their profession openly admitted to being together and never working without the other to wherever it was that they would spend their fourth - fifth honeymoon. ("Cabo." "God no, remember last time?" "Nepal? You liked Nepal." "It wasn't Nepal that I liked so much as --" Anyway, you get the picture.)
Once he had seen them off, he watched Ariadne buy her ticket for her return trip to Paris (she did have classes to return to after all) and would be sure to keep in contact with the architect. She had promise and if she chose to continue in dream share, she should work with some of the best.
As for Arthur himself, he booked the first flight he could to Prague. He had a safe house there and he could take a little time off to relax, study what Fischer did and check in with Cobb to see how he and the children were adjusting. He would never work with the extractor again unless in dire circumstances but the whole point was getting him back home to his children. As far as Arthur saw it, he had done just that.
He didn't normally indulge in first class seating when leaving a job - it could draw too much attention but for a fourteen hour flight, after just getting off of a long flight, he didn't feel like sitting in cramped corners with a child on one side and one behind him kicking his chair. At least in first class, that was bound to happen less. For now, it appeared that the chair next to him was empty and he was a little thankful for that. Perhaps he'd get a little sleep after all - well, eventually. Once the adrenaline of what he just helped accomplished wore off.

A brow arched at that. "What model? Come on. Share all the details. Color?"
no subject
"Mercedes SL600," he admitted with a chuckle before sharing all of the details. "And it's black. What about you? Favorite car?"
no subject
And then his expression changed, fond and loving. "Anything American muscle. Classic. Top of the line engine. I don't currently have a car though."
no subject
He noticed the expression changing on Tuck's face as the talked about his favorite car. "Live in a metropolis or just don't drive," he asked, out of curiosity mainly.
no subject
He made a bit of a face. "Bit of both. Work just keeps me so busy and rarely in the city where my place is, I just didn't see the point in replacing my last one. Got a tiny bit ruined when a friend misused it." Like as a shield. From bullets. And what had turned out to be an antipersonel round.
no subject
Arthur nodded and tilted his head a little. "So where do you usually live? When you're not working or traveling," he asked - it did, maybe, play a part in where they would meet up once they were both available. "A tiny bit ruined," he asked, sensing a bigger story there.
no subject
That was a loaded question though, due to the apartment, he did have an answer that wasn't even entirely a lie. "New York. Main offices are out of there too," he admitted. "Is that bad or good? New York that is?"
Of course he made a face. "He told me I could make the curve and I didn't."
no subject
Arthur shook his head. "New York is good. When I have time I like going back," he admitted with a smile. Though, those times were far and few between at times.
There was no response to that other than a laugh at both the facial expression and the story. "Never trust someone if they say you can make it," he smirked.
no subject
“Well then, now you have more reasons to make time for it,” he said, his tones not changing, staying in that low tone still.
“But… It was worth the try. Besides, I trust him.”
no subject
He tilted his head. "Looks like it." He loved New York, it was his home and where he went when he needed to come back to who he was.
"No one was hurt?"
no subject
"No. No one was hurt. Only my pride was ruined."
no subject
He chuckled softly and nodded. "Glad no one was seriously hurt."
no subject
"As am I. Usually a goal in the things I do," he admitted. "Most often it works out," he said lightheartedly, making it a joke.
no subject
He chuckled softly. "Usually one of mine too," he said lightheartedly. Though, fuck was it not true. It was part of his job to see that things go smoothly and no one got hurt. Least -- no one got more hurt than needed.
no subject
"Shame life doesn't always play along," he said softly, shaking his head to get rid of it. "But that's not here and now, is it?"
no subject
He nodded silently. "No, it isn't - here and now is talking to this very cute man sitting next to me and planning out some future dates." Which, to be honest, he still wasn't fully expecting to happen - being a realist and knowing how busy his schedule can be. Still, he would like to go out once with him. He was so different then any of the men or women he came across and interacted with. He was -- well, he was sweet and endearing.
no subject
"Oh? Is that what life is? Well then. I think that's a pretty good part of life to have," he said, recovering himself fairly quickly. "Do tell, what kind of dates do you normally go on?"
no subject
no subject
He leaned in a bit closer to him. "And what means that I'm different if you don't do dating," he asked, liking being near to him.
"I think we should do all of those. After all, we both have to have dinner on different days, don't we?"
no subject
When Tuck leaned in closer to him, Arthur allowed his eyes to be drawn over the man's lips and back to his eyes. He rather liked the closeness of him. He didn't know why this man was so different than all the rest. Maybe because he was endearing and charming and Arthur was just at that right moment where he was ready to have a little fun for himself. "Let's just say that I have recently come off of a long project and I'm ready to enjoy myself -- my life." And the possibility of falling into limbo -- well that may have had a large part in it too.
Arthur chuckled and nodded his head. "Course, we do have to eat," he said, giving him a broad grin.
no subject
He caught that shift in Arthur’s gaze though, smiling as he wriggled over to be as close as he might with the arm rests and the first class seating and all.
“I’m ready for us to enjoy your life too,” he said, turning up the flirtations as best he could. In all honest, he left the serious flirting to FDR but in this instance, he was willing to try. More than willing to try.
“I just want you to know, that I’m thinking about what it would be like to kiss you too,” he said, making that assumption and hoping his intuitive leap wasn’t off.
no subject
"Yeah," he asked, glancing back at his lips before deciding to take a chance. After all, it was worth a shot. Arthur leaned in further, giving Tuck plenty of time to duck away before pressing a kiss to his lips. The last person he had kissed was Ariadne in the dream and that really had only been to distract the projections and okay, test the waters a little bit as well.
no subject
Then their lips were touching and they were kissing and Tuck realized he'd lost all ability to think. At least not about anything but Arthur. The way his lips felt against Tuck's, the soft shush of his breath.
Without thinking, his hand came up to cup the back of the other man's head. Kissing him a bit deeper, tongue sweeping over his bottom lip with a groan. They were on a plane. In public. He was forgetting that a bit.
no subject
Airplane. Public. He was okay with kissing in public like this. Especially right now -- this kissing with Tuck, yeah he was more than okay with this.
no subject
Tuck barely broke the kiss with a groan. "Yeah, public. Remind me of that."
