[01] Well, hello -- Criminal Minds for [personal profile] noc

Inception.

Arthur had said it couldn't be done and yet here he was, boarding a plane to Prague just hours after completing the unfathomable.

They had just barely scraped through, what with all of the last minute plan changes, and they wouldn't know for weeks whether the seed would take but so far it looked like it had and they were all alive. To be honest, it had been one of the most difficult jobs of Arthur's career and also the most eye opening experience he's had in a long time.

Once Cobb and Fischer Jr had left with their respective parties, Arthur had seen their forger and chemist off. They were a pair who defied the expectations of their profession openly admitted to being together and never working without the other to wherever it was that they would spend their fourth - fifth honeymoon. ("Cabo." "God no, remember last time?" "Nepal? You liked Nepal." "It wasn't Nepal that I liked so much as --" Anyway, you get the picture.)

Once he had seen them off, he watched Ariadne buy her ticket for her return trip to Paris (she did have classes to return to after all) and would be sure to keep in contact with the architect. She had promise and if she chose to continue in dream share, she should work with some of the best.

As for Arthur himself, he booked the first flight he could to Prague. He had a safe house there and he could take a little time off to relax, study what Fischer did and check in with Cobb to see how he and the children were adjusting. He would never work with the extractor again unless in dire circumstances but the whole point was getting him back home to his children. As far as Arthur saw it, he had done just that.

He didn't normally indulge in first class seating when leaving a job - it could draw too much attention but for a fourteen hour flight, after just getting off of a long flight, he didn't feel like sitting in cramped corners with a child on one side and one behind him kicking his chair. At least in first class, that was bound to happen less. For now, it appeared that the chair next to him was empty and he was a little thankful for that. Perhaps he'd get a little sleep after all - well, eventually. Once the adrenaline of what he just helped accomplished wore off.

"I see that worked out better than I thought it would," he admitted, sounding almost smug with himself. "I like when things work out the way I want them to." More than he had even believed it would go. "We'll have to do that."

A brow arched at that. "What model? Come on. Share all the details. Color?"

[personal profile] noc 2012-12-04 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I was hoping. I wouldn't have sworn it would work though," he admitted. "I'm racking up a list of dates with you. Eventually you're going to catch on to that,' He pointed out with a grin. He considered that before smirking. "Philly, like my cheesesteak."

And then his expression changed, fond and loving. "Anything American muscle. Classic. Top of the line engine. I don't currently have a car though."

"Well those are the ones we've talked about. Others have gone through my head," he admitted, looking both sheepish and happy about that. "I will do so," he said with a nod. "I would say combine them, paintball and pizza, but that's cutting down on my dates," he pointed out. "I don't plan to do that."

He made a bit of a face. "Bit of both. Work just keeps me so busy and rarely in the city where my place is, I just didn't see the point in replacing my last one. Got a tiny bit ruined when a friend misused it." Like as a shield. From bullets. And what had turned out to be an antipersonel round.

The look he gave Arthur could be deemed nothing if not speculatory. It was obvious the wheels were turning, trying to work out how much he could get away with. "I think, before I answer that, it begs the question. Do you dance," he asked, definitely putting enough of a spin on it to make it a challenge.

That was a loaded question though, due to the apartment, he did have an answer that wasn't even entirely a lie. "New York. Main offices are out of there too," he admitted. "Is that bad or good? New York that is?"

Of course he made a face. "He told me I could make the curve and I didn't."

“Informal dance at a club,” he repeated, peering at Arthur curiously. “Is this some kind of dancing that is wicked and heathenistic? If so, I could buy into this. I most certainly could. Especially with you,” he added, voice dropping a bit, rumbling.

“Well then, now you have more reasons to make time for it,” he said, his tones not changing, staying in that low tone still.

“But… It was worth the try. Besides, I trust him.”

"Soon. I like this as soon. Something about you, heathenistic and wicked? I like that idea," he admitted. Tuck realized he wasn't even hiding things anymore. He was being himself, not ashamed to be flirting with a stranger. A male stranger at that. "You know, I bet they have good dance clubs in New York," he added, enjoying himself fully.

"No. No one was hurt. Only my pride was ruined."

[personal profile] noc 2012-12-24 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
"You know, I've heard that," he admitted, playing up his shock and concern over this. "I wonder if they're any good. I guess I'll have to find someone to go with me, won't I," he asked, his smile widening.

"As am I. Usually a goal in the things I do," he admitted. "Most often it works out," he said lightheartedly, making it a joke.

[personal profile] noc 2012-12-26 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Tuck jerked at that, not very subtle in the fact that his head snapped up, looking around to see what Arthur was talking about. "Wait, what? Huh?" Confusion creased his brow. "Wait, you're playing me, right?" Truth was, in Tuck's mind, he had to be.

"Shame life doesn't always play along," he said softly, shaking his head to get rid of it. "But that's not here and now, is it?"

[personal profile] noc 2012-12-30 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
Ducking his head, Tuck actually blushed. "Right. Got it," he muttered, looking embarrassed though he offered a smile to the other man.

"Oh? Is that what life is? Well then. I think that's a pretty good part of life to have," he said, recovering himself fairly quickly. "Do tell, what kind of dates do you normally go on?"

[personal profile] noc 2013-01-01 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"At all," he asked, arching a brow. Leave it to Tuck to focus on that and not even get the least bit distracted. He definitely wanted to know how that was. "At all? Work? Don't date much," he asked, arching a brow.

He leaned in a bit closer to him. "And what means that I'm different if you don't do dating," he asked, liking being near to him.

"I think we should do all of those. After all, we both have to have dinner on different days, don't we?"

All of this was madness, Tuck knew that. He was flirting with a stranger. A stranger that was male to boot. He hadn’t indulged like that since he was barely out of school but there was something about it that felt positively… freeing. Not that it wasn’t something he could have done before but with all he’d been enduring, the son he felt he had nearly lost, and all that came between, to have this time when he could. Soon enough he’d be back with the Bureau and his life and who knew where this could go then.

He caught that shift in Arthur’s gaze though, smiling as he wriggled over to be as close as he might with the arm rests and the first class seating and all.

“I’m ready for us to enjoy your life too,” he said, turning up the flirtations as best he could. In all honest, he left the serious flirting to FDR but in this instance, he was willing to try. More than willing to try.

“I just want you to know, that I’m thinking about what it would be like to kiss you too,” he said, making that assumption and hoping his intuitive leap wasn’t off.

"We do. I plan to have dates from you before we land. I mean the actual physical dates. Are they physical," he asked, though the words trailed off as Arthur leaned in closer.

Then their lips were touching and they were kissing and Tuck realized he'd lost all ability to think. At least not about anything but Arthur. The way his lips felt against Tuck's, the soft shush of his breath.

Without thinking, his hand came up to cup the back of the other man's head. Kissing him a bit deeper, tongue sweeping over his bottom lip with a groan. They were on a plane. In public. He was forgetting that a bit.

They'd just met and that was part of why it felt okay. Who knew where it could go or what could change but until then, they had this. A kiss. Plans for a date. Not to mention the way Arthur responded. It was enough to make him whimper. The sound, the feel of his hand.

Tuck barely broke the kiss with a groan. "Yeah, public. Remind me of that."
