[01] Well, hello -- Criminal Minds for
noc
Inception.
Arthur had said it couldn't be done and yet here he was, boarding a plane to Prague just hours after completing the unfathomable.
They had just barely scraped through, what with all of the last minute plan changes, and they wouldn't know for weeks whether the seed would take but so far it looked like it had and they were all alive. To be honest, it had been one of the most difficult jobs of Arthur's career and also the most eye opening experience he's had in a long time.
Once Cobb and Fischer Jr had left with their respective parties, Arthur had seen their forger and chemist off. They were a pair who defied the expectations of their profession openly admitted to being together and never working without the other to wherever it was that they would spend their fourth - fifth honeymoon. ("Cabo." "God no, remember last time?" "Nepal? You liked Nepal." "It wasn't Nepal that I liked so much as --" Anyway, you get the picture.)
Once he had seen them off, he watched Ariadne buy her ticket for her return trip to Paris (she did have classes to return to after all) and would be sure to keep in contact with the architect. She had promise and if she chose to continue in dream share, she should work with some of the best.
As for Arthur himself, he booked the first flight he could to Prague. He had a safe house there and he could take a little time off to relax, study what Fischer did and check in with Cobb to see how he and the children were adjusting. He would never work with the extractor again unless in dire circumstances but the whole point was getting him back home to his children. As far as Arthur saw it, he had done just that.
He didn't normally indulge in first class seating when leaving a job - it could draw too much attention but for a fourteen hour flight, after just getting off of a long flight, he didn't feel like sitting in cramped corners with a child on one side and one behind him kicking his chair. At least in first class, that was bound to happen less. For now, it appeared that the chair next to him was empty and he was a little thankful for that. Perhaps he'd get a little sleep after all - well, eventually. Once the adrenaline of what he just helped accomplished wore off.

"Shame life doesn't always play along," he said softly, shaking his head to get rid of it. "But that's not here and now, is it?"
no subject
He nodded silently. "No, it isn't - here and now is talking to this very cute man sitting next to me and planning out some future dates." Which, to be honest, he still wasn't fully expecting to happen - being a realist and knowing how busy his schedule can be. Still, he would like to go out once with him. He was so different then any of the men or women he came across and interacted with. He was -- well, he was sweet and endearing.
no subject
"Oh? Is that what life is? Well then. I think that's a pretty good part of life to have," he said, recovering himself fairly quickly. "Do tell, what kind of dates do you normally go on?"

He leaned in a bit closer to him. "And what means that I'm different if you don't do dating," he asked, liking being near to him.
"I think we should do all of those. After all, we both have to have dinner on different days, don't we?"
no subject
When Tuck leaned in closer to him, Arthur allowed his eyes to be drawn over the man's lips and back to his eyes. He rather liked the closeness of him. He didn't know why this man was so different than all the rest. Maybe because he was endearing and charming and Arthur was just at that right moment where he was ready to have a little fun for himself. "Let's just say that I have recently come off of a long project and I'm ready to enjoy myself -- my life." And the possibility of falling into limbo -- well that may have had a large part in it too.
Arthur chuckled and nodded his head. "Course, we do have to eat," he said, giving him a broad grin.
no subject
He caught that shift in Arthur’s gaze though, smiling as he wriggled over to be as close as he might with the arm rests and the first class seating and all.
“I’m ready for us to enjoy your life too,” he said, turning up the flirtations as best he could. In all honest, he left the serious flirting to FDR but in this instance, he was willing to try. More than willing to try.
“I just want you to know, that I’m thinking about what it would be like to kiss you too,” he said, making that assumption and hoping his intuitive leap wasn’t off.
no subject
"Yeah," he asked, glancing back at his lips before deciding to take a chance. After all, it was worth a shot. Arthur leaned in further, giving Tuck plenty of time to duck away before pressing a kiss to his lips. The last person he had kissed was Ariadne in the dream and that really had only been to distract the projections and okay, test the waters a little bit as well.
no subject
Then their lips were touching and they were kissing and Tuck realized he'd lost all ability to think. At least not about anything but Arthur. The way his lips felt against Tuck's, the soft shush of his breath.
Without thinking, his hand came up to cup the back of the other man's head. Kissing him a bit deeper, tongue sweeping over his bottom lip with a groan. They were on a plane. In public. He was forgetting that a bit.
no subject
Airplane. Public. He was okay with kissing in public like this. Especially right now -- this kissing with Tuck, yeah he was more than okay with this.
no subject
Tuck barely broke the kiss with a groan. "Yeah, public. Remind me of that."

And someone was.
There was a clearing of a throat and then a perky voice.
"Gentleman, I'm sorry to bother you but the gentlemen two rows back wanted me to bring you this," she said, holding two crystals flutes and a bottle of champagne.
He may just be a tiny bit paranoid at first. /ahem
"Tell them thank you," he said with a quirk to his lips, wondering if he should trust it - it was easy to poison and drug bottles of wine. He hadn't recognized the men but that didn't mean anything. While inwardly he debated taking it, outwardly he held his hand out for one of the flutes to rest on his tray. It didn't hurt having it on his tray.

Still smiling because this was darling and sweet. He leaned over to Arthur. "They think we're a couple, Darling, and open about it," he admitted. "I saw them whispering earlier and it was... intimate."
no subject
Arthur chuckled and looked at him. "Yeah, they do," he said with a smile. It didn't escape his notice that this time Tuck had used the 'Darling' endearment but he didn't comment on it. "They're a handsome couple."
no subject
"Not as handsome as you are," he noted, moving to open the bottle. "I guess we're not done with champagne, are we?"
And he realized he didn't mind that, just so long as they still had this time.
"So, where were we before finding out how tasty you are?"
no subject
He felt a flush creep up his neck as he grinned. "Can't remember," he said. "Though, I think you mentioned something about dates."
no subject
"You look fantastic when you blush like that," he admitted. "I think it's because you have this air about you that makes you look so... together," he teased. "FDR has that look so I know it. Even in jeans and a tee shirt. Me I look like I dressed in the dark sometime."
no subject
For a moment, Arthur allowed his eyes to trail over Tuck as he hummed. "I don't know, you seem like the type of man who could pull off anything - even if it wasn't exactly the most eye catching."
no subject
Adding the last since they only just met. "But thank you. I like to think I can handle anything."
no subject
"You're welcome," he said, his lips curling up into a smile.
no subject
"Wait until I'm not worried about being watched... or arrested," he murmured.

After that they spent the next several hours drinking, eating bad airplane food and talking. Arthur hardly ever slept and although he had slept ten hours prior on the Inception job right before he got on the plane to Prague, he hadn't truly slept for at least twenty four hours it felt like. He'd have time though once they landed and he headed to his safe house. Only, Tuck wouldn't be there and despite himself and all logical reason, he'd miss his company even though they had only known each other for a handful of hours.
"The captain has asked you to return to your seats, fasten your seat-belts and return your trays to their up right position in preparation for landing. It is currently three in the afternoon, local time. Thank you for flying with us and enjoy your time in Prague."
Arthur turned to look at Tuck with a little grin. He was at a loss on how to handle this - not normally the type to have something like this happen to. They had exchanged numbers half way through the flight after realizing there was no use denying that they would at least try to make time for a date when they had the time. "Have to say, this has been one of the most interesting flights that I've had lately."
no subject
"So... If you have the time, why not have dinner tomorrow," he asked, not sure he would agree to it, but he was willing to try. "You can contact me if you want. No pressure," he assured him, blushing and ducking his head.
