It was a month in on this job from hell, or so he was starting to mentally refer to it as, and there was a faint light at the end of the tunnel that he could faintly see. They were hardly to the point where Arthur would feel confident in saying they were ready but they were making progress.

As he had promised, Arthur sent a text at least once a week even if it was as simple as 'i'm alive', 'hey' and 'how was your day'. Something where Tony knew he was alive and well.

It was Friday and even Arthur, the workaholic that he was prone to be, wanted the evening off just as much as everyone else seemed to. Instead of hitting a local restaurant or bar with the others, Arthur decided to return to his hotel suite and order in room service.

With his order in front of him and a glass of wine, Arthur picked up his phone and thought about what time it would be in California. 7:15 in the evening in Paris was roughly 10 AM in California. If Tony didn't get back to him now, Arthur would be up for a while either way.

Arthur chuckled and spread his legs out in front of him.

Is that right? That makes me feel better.

Tony considered that and then texted back.

It should. You're one of the few to still get firsts with me.

It took a minute for Arthur to respond as he read over those messages once, twice and a third time.

I miss you.

It still made him feel warm and, dare he think it, fuzzy inside hearing -- reading those words from Tony Stark.

He had worried about those messages after having hit send. He was taking a huge chance and it scared him in ways that war and death never did.

Yeah, back at you. All going well?

As well as it can. How are you?

He thought about playing games. This was text after all, meaning it could be seen by others.

He couldn't bring himself too.

Arthur smiled. He knew that text was iffy at best when it came to terms of security. Still, he was glad that they weren't playing games just now.

Wish I could be in that bed with you.

Course, by that time, Arthur would have been up by then and been on his run, showered and dressed for the day.

Despite his concerns, Tony wasn't backing down now. He missed the boy too much not to take what he could get while he was off doing this job, following that crazy bastard wherever he led.

That would be nice. Though if by be in it with me, you mean sleeping, we've passed that.

And you wouldn't. You get up at ungodly hours.

Arthur's lips curled up into a larger grin as he spread his legs. He didn't care much about his food now and the French news was just playing in the background. It wasn't every day, at least lately, that he had as much time as he had to talk to the other man.

No, you're right. Either I would have been up hours before or you'd be fucking me.

Well that definitely brought a mental image. One that came with an echo of Arthur's moans in Tony's head and a sudden surge of blood between his legs.

Bit of both, I think. I'm sure if I told you I wanted you back in bed, naked and asking for it, you'd do it.

That definitely brought memories and mental images to Arthur's mind and blood straight to his groin. He palmed and adjusted himself in his boxers before responding back.

I could see both happening. Knowing myself and knowing you.

Tony was pretty sure where this was going. Or better yet, where he was hoping it was going.

Why would you do that? Want me to slam you against the wall and make you beg for it?

Normally he wasn't this forward, this aggressive, with Arthur but he was missing him, desperate for him and he could have this and not their intimacy.

Arthur knew where he wanted this to go - it was after all, why he had opened up that line of communication by saying he was alone and needed Stark.

It was a thought.

It wasn't every day that Stark was this aggressive but Arthur would be lying if he said he didn't like it. He was missing the older man, wanting and needing him and he wasn't going to just waste the time they were given.

God, but that had him aching, sprawling a bit more.

That's my boy, isn't it? The one that I bend over desks, the work table... Take you like you want.

Unknowingly, Arthur's eyes turned shades darker as he shifted on the couch and pressed a palm into his hardening cock. He did love it when Stark bent him over desks and work tables.

Arthur sent the text before he realized it and quickly composed a second.

What are you wearing?

Oh he did like that answer, grinning even as the second one came in. He chuckled though no one was there to hear him.

I'm still in bed, Arthur. Two guesses.

Arthur was tired of texting and within a minute or so, Arthur was holding his phone up to his ear after pressing call. He wanted to hear Stark's voice, not just read his oh so smug text messages.

"I'm guessing you either fell in bed in your clothes this morning or you're naked," he said once Tony answered. If his voice was a little huskier, well that was neither here nor there.

He laughed when it rang, answering with a chuckle. Then chuckling more when he heard Arthur's voice.

"Entirely naked, Arthur. Well, does a sheet count," he asked, laying back and glad to not be texting, freeing his hand.

Arthur felt a grin curl on his lips when he heard Stark's chuckling and voice. He made a soft sound before responding.

"No, a sheet doesn't count," he said with a chuckle, resting his head back on the couch - glad for the free hand.

It was better hearing Arthur's voice that Tony could have imagined. It was almost terrifying realizing that he missed anyone as much as he did the man on the other end of the phone.

"Well then... to repeat, I'm naked. You?"

Arthur closed his eyes momentarily and soaked in the sound of Tony's voice and the mental image that came to mind when he confirmed he was naked. "Not naked. Boxers and t-shirt still on," he said, smiling though knowing Tony couldn't exactly see it.

There was barely a hesitation. "And why is that," he asked. "Unless you don't want me to see how long it takes before you're begging to get off."

Oh he wanted. Very much. "I wasn't sure if you were going to fall back asleep on me or not," he said with a teasing tone to his voice.

"Hold on," he said a moment later and sat the phone down so he could remove his t-shirt and boxers, laying them on the couch. He picked up his phone again and moved over toward the bed. "Naked," he confirmed, sitting down on the bed.

"I'm old, but I wouldn't do that," he said, sounding almost cross, right before he chuckled. "Course, Pepper will hate you when I don't show at tonight's benefit because I'm sleeping." Not that he minded. Not in the least. Great way to get out of it, in fact.

He waited, listening to the sound of rustling clothes. "That's better. So do I be a dick and ask about work now?"

"She can be mad at me - at least this way you're getting sleep," Arthur remarked with a grin. He didn't mind it if Pepper got mad at him, in the end, what mattered to him was Tony getting some rest.

He smirked. "I believe we went through that part already so no, I don't think you should be a dick."
